Information You Provide to Us

We collect the information that you directly provide to us, such as when you enter it on the Website or include it in an email that you send to us. This type of collection often occurs through our business processes, such as:

    • Your inquiries

  • Questionnaire or survey: where you may voluntarily submit answers to questions that we may ask,

    • Demographic information (e.g. sex, age, and occupation)

    • Other answers you provide to us

Information Collected Automatically

We may also automatically or passively collect information about your use of the Website. While information collected in this manner is not typically personal information, we may combine it in ways that make it personally identifiable. When we do so, we will treat the combined information as personal information. For example, data collected in this manner may include:

Website browsing activity, network or service usage data, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), IP address, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data;

Information received from third parties

Sony may receive information from Sony Group Companies and third parties, including subcontractors. Sony may combine information received from third parties with information it possesses for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

As required by law
We may also use your personal information to protect you, and our employees and our partners, and to use it in connection with legal claims, compliance, regulatory and investigative purposes (including disclosure of such information in connection with legal process or litigation).

Combining the information we collect
We may link or combine the information that we collect from different sources outlined above in the “Information That We Collect” section above, with other information we have including information received from other “Sony Group Companies” (Sony Group Corporation and any company where more than 50 % of voting rights is owned or controlled by Sony Group Corporation) about your use of other Sony group products and services. Information may be linked via a unique identifier, such as a cookie or account number. Alternatively, we may decide to combine two or more databases into a single database of customer information.

We may do this for your and/or our convenience (for example, to allow you to more easily register for a new service), to allow us to provide a more seamless customer support whenever you contact us and to provide you with better, personalized services, content, marketing and advertisements.

Anonymous statistics
We may prepare anonymous, aggregate or generic data (including "generic" statistics) for number of purposes as outlined above. 4. Social Media Applications

The functionality of this Website may be linked with third-party applications such as Facebook and Twitter. Such functionality enables you to "like" a product and online content, "share" content, and otherwise link the contents with another third-party property. If you "like" or "share" content or to otherwise post information from or via the Website to a third-party property, that information may become public and the third-party application may have access to information about you and your use of the Website.

You may also choose to participate in a third-party application or feature (such as Facebook applications or a similar application or feature on a third-party property, or otherwise linking the Website with another property) through which you allow us to collect (or the third party to share) information about you, including personal information. When you choose to participate, you may be opting to link your activity on our Website with that third-party property, which may then collect information about your visits to our Website and may publish that activity as you request to your "profile", “timeline” or similar feature (such as if you choose to share content you find on our Website with your "connections" on the third party's property). The information we collect is subject to this Privacy Policy. However, the information collected and stored by the third party remains subject to the third party's privacy practices, including whether the third party continues to share information with us or with other third parties, the types of information shared, and your choices regarding what is visible to others on that third party's property. The third party may allow you to remove an application or feature, in which case we will no longer collect information about you through the application or feature, but we may retain the information previously collected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

5. International Transfers of Information

When we transfer information to other countries, we will use, share and safeguard that information as described in this Privacy Policy. To provide our services, we may transfer the information we collect to countries outside of the EEA which do not provide the same level of data protection as the country in which you reside and are not recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. We only transfer information to these countries when it is necessary for the services we provide you, or it is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or subject to safeguards that assure the protection of your personal information, such as European Commission approved standard contractual clauses or other measures as required by law. However, this may impact your rights in your local jurisdiction and in the applicable overseas jurisdiction(s). These overseas jurisdictions may also need to disclose your personal information to a third party, such as an overseas authority.

6. Security of Your Information

Sony seeks to maintain reasonable security measures in order to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information it collects. Although we strive to protect the information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the absolute security of any information transmitted to us through this Website or that we store on our systems or that is stored on our third party contractors’ systems.

More information regarding these technologies is below.

Cookies can generally be divided into two categories, 1st Party Cookie and 3rd Party Cookie. 1st Party Cookies are set by Sony. Such cookies, in many cases, are set for the use of the functions provided on the Website. On the other hand, 3rd Party Cookies are set by a third party rather than Sony itself. For example, some 3rd Party Cookies are set by companies providing advertisement distribution services to Sony, in order to track the customer's browsing activities, so that appropriate online advertisements can be posted in the appropriate location. However, we have no access to or control over these 3rd party cookies or websites.

"Web Beacon (or pixel)" is a technology for transferring information from the customer's device to the server. A web beacon can be embedded in email and online content such as images and videos, allowing for servers to read specific types of information from the customer's device, to recognise that the customer has seen specific content, or has opened / previewed an email, and to record information such as the date of viewing and IP address, etc.

"Embedded script" is programming code designed to collect information about your interaction with this website, such as links clicked on. This code is temporarily downloaded from a Sony server or subcontractor to your device, activated only while you are connected to the Sony server website, and then disabled or deleted thereafter.
